Andy Bolton News Hi everybody and welcome to my website! February 6th. 2009 Well its seems a long time ago since the 2008 wpc worlds anyway here are my lifting plans for 2009: April 5th I will be doing the south east going for a big bench and a dead lift for reps 365kg x ? Next I will be the bpc british in july, where I will be going for the biggest total all time. And next I will be the wpc worlds in november in England again where I plan to smash the all time records! Keep you posted andy December 20th. 2008 Well! Here is my review of my performance at this year WPC Worlds: Squat: opened with 490kg felt pretty strong then I went to 520kg to take the wpc record from Brent Mikesell and my 3rd was 532.5kg which did feel pretty good but after watching the video you can see the monolift stands go back in before the bar is even up to them so the bar hit them on the way up, this was a shame but these things happen. Bench: I have been working with Rick Hussey from big iron for only 4 weeks before this show and and I hit a 285k opener then 305kh and my 3rd was a Brithish Record 312.5kg, I know I could have done lots more but just wanted this record out of the way first now the sky is the limit. Deadlift: opener was 390kg pretty easy then 427.5kg also felt very easy. So we decided to go 455.5kg got to my knees but I was done at this point. I have heard a lot of talk that my deadlift has stalled, I have pulled over 900lbs 27 times now, and the main goal at a WPC Worlds for me anyway is to win first records come and go but titles stay forever, I really want to thank the British Team and Brian Batcheldor and Bulldog and Steve Plunkett for being in my corner every second on that day! Thanks lads, also the lads from Leeds because without them I would not even be at this level right now, and a big thank you to www.apisl.com who support me and last but not least my wife Stacy and daughter Madison. Thank you every body! Andy Bolton
November 7th. 2208 Well! Only 3 weeks to go till the wpc worlds, training has gone really well: all 3 lifts are strong, and with no injuries. Should be a great show. Team GB are sending a big team this year: over 30 lifters! I keep you posted Andy Bolton October 3rd. 2008 Olympia Expo Hi everyone! I am back in England now after a long delayed flight from Las Vegas. The Powerlifting Supershow was a great event, everybody there seemed to enjoy it and I got to meet some great benchers backstage: Ryan Scott, Sean Frankl, Big Latt Brad, Tiny Jim Grandik, Becca and John Inzer ... Everybody was great, if only I could bench like these men my total would be wow!, well, anyway I did a 365kg/800lbs Deadlift, I got 5 reps, felt good for a few more then on the way down from the 5th the wts fell off, this made it look so dramatic and the crowd seem to like it ha ha! Being at the olympia expo deadlifting and benching who would have thought that eh, thank you to everybody involved in running the meet, looking forward to next year. Thanks! Andy Bolton September 22nd 2008 Well! Since the battle at the British, I have got back into hard training and with no injuries this time. I am training hard for the VPC WORLD on 23rd nov, but before this show, I fly to Las Vegas on 24th sept to compete at the Olympia Super Show, it will be a deadlift battle for reps 363kg/800lbs as many reps as possible! Me vs. Russia vs. Ukraine, this should be a good show and something new for me, I am looking forward to this as training has gone very well for it and there will be plenty of reps done lol! Keep you informed! Andy Bolton July 21st 2008 Well here is my run down of the show: It was a very well organised show with good tv coverage me and Donnie were both ready to do battle and the judging was the strictest I had ever seen so far. Not to make any excuses, my canvass suit seemed a little tight as I had not worn it since WPO 2007 and I was 10 lbs heavier, so I felt very tight around hips but I really thought I could get down with it. But I was shocked when I kept getting red lights looking back the 1st and 2nd were a touch high but my 3rd of what I saw from a good angle was very borderline. I could have gone white of red, and Donnies were so strong coming up he could squated 1300 easy, the man is strong. But really found it hard getting down in the suit but he did only have a few weeks in it so he bombed this really pissed me off as I thought we could have gone to the last d.lift to decide the winner, we are good friend and I really wanted him to stay in the meeting. He showed me how to finally use the shirt the right way, so in the future watch out for some big numbers, the big totl everybody wanted was just not there this day, shit happens some day but i am sure we will meet again, and Donnie is the man who can hit that 3000lb mark, his bench is awesome when it is working maybe he can help me out lol. Anyway Donnie, thanks for taking me on in England, I know people think you were set up but as you saw the judging was pretty fair, all the best in the future my friend, stay strong! Andy Bolton 2008 British Champion lol! Only joking! good luck! Andy Bolton June 6th 2008 Hi! here is some news on my training! Well its only 5 weeks away to the biggest bpc british ever done, a big thank-you to Brian and Ness for doing all the work. This will be a great show and what about the battle between me and Donnie we have not lifted against each other in 3 years, this will be a great battle but i am not going there to loose I can assure you that and neither will Donnie! My training is going well my sqts are strong and bench is better than ever and d.lift is also very strong, my bodywt is 161kg 1st. thing in morning which is a good weight for me, looking forward to this one, also look out for the 110kg battle Del and Craig and also the 125s will be really exciting, and what about the 75s Andrias and Lee Gordon this will be a battle. Keep you posted Andy Bolton May 11th 2008 Andy's comeback: After the elbows operation, Andy just missed a new british record on bench with 312,5kg/689lbs. Watch the video Andy April 25th 2008 Well! Everything is back on track again! I have been benching heavy again with no reaction to elbow operation, squats are getting strong again after grion injury back up over 500lbs and deadlift is very strong with below knee pulls of 432.5kg/950lbs, bodyweight is up to 164kg and I will be doing a bench only meet on 27th april, I will keep you all informed. Andy March 20th 2008 I am now back in full training! I benched monday only 2nd week back and hit 182.5kg 3 reps raw. Feeling good after elbow operation, also deadlifts been working on partial pulls from shin height past 2 weeks 1st session, I hit 325kg 10 reps no straps just a belt and this week I hit 385kg 5 reps no straps just belt. My squat is coming a little slower due to the groin strain but is getting much stronger , my next show will be maybe just a bench at bpc welsh or bpc slough and after that its a all out battle against chad and donnie at the british. Andy Bolton February 25th 2008 Well, so far 2008 has not been that great for with injury and sickness, but now seems to be coming to an end and I should be back in training next week, and working hard on getting that world record total back!
February 14th 2008 2008 so far has not really started off too good, after having a operation on elbow in nov 07 I was just getting back to strength when I got a cold which really dehydrated me. So my next workout I squatted 340kg/749lbs for reps just belt and wraps felt really strong, then next I got ready for d.lift same again went to 340k/749lbs was just setting up and pop my groin popped so I thought nothing of it and pulled 2 reps easy, next day my god, my groin was in so much pain, so that was that but then this cold turned into a viral infection which led to me being admitted into hospital due to very high blood presssure. After all the checks on my heart the works the results are good, my heart is good, my blood pressure back to normal and I just need to rest a little till I shake it off, but I will be back very soon stronger than ever, I want some records back, and I will not stop untill I am no.1 again lol Andy Bolton January 25th 2008 Well! Training has been going really good squat and deadlift are very srong! I was hoping to set some records at wpo meeting in LA but just heard the meeting cancelled! Oh well... Now I will be lifting at the BPC WELSH using this as a warm up to the british were I hope to get my record total back. Hearing that Donnie broke my record has really pissed me off and I want it back, my elbow is fixed back benching again so all looks well for a good year, I just want to say well done to Vladislar for his 567.5kg squat and Donnie for his 1295kg total, enjoy it fellas I want those records back ha! ha! talk soon Andy Bolton December 2nd 2007 On monday 26th nov 2007 I had a operation on my right elbow, I had to have some bone taken from the tip also my bursa was removed.
